Mix it up

My name is Becky....i led the 'MIX IT UP' workshop in the NATIONAL confrence.
Amazing experiance...just to be in a room full to the brim of mix-d people from all over the country was something new in itself. Not just for me...but everyone involved ... including the adults(i guess).
I've done two other confrences for Notts both of them gave me re-newed confidence in the work Bradley's started for all us young people, so we have our OWN voice. And dont get shoved in other peoples boxes.
Not like their boxes are bad...but they're just not ours.
Best thing about this confrence is the things i learnt from everyone else that day...(even though they were pretty quiet) their determination to not let things like race become something they hide behind or let stop them doing anything.
Also... the schools maturiosity when it came down to it. No-one was rude...however skeptical, everyone stayed awake despite the sickening hour of the morning; and most of all i got the feeling they actually cared.
And they should do ... it's all about US.
